Busy day
Thursday, April 30, 2009, 11:11 PM

We're busy bcos it's mth end. We stayed till abt 9pm to make sure everything is done. Of all mths till i dun even rmb when was the last time, it's e 1st time we are staying behind until such hr. After e recession, it's always common to think that being busy is really better than having nothing to do. So there's nothing to complain abt even if we are staying late.

Just when we thought that things are showing signs of optimism, Swine flu suddenly arise. I'm not sure if it would become a global outbreak. If it does, travel and tourism will be hit drastically. When travellers or businessmen start to cancel their trips, biz will drop again.

With so many viruses going around and also those that are unknown in the past, we should get a mask and standby to use it anytime. I'm sure it would come in handy.

After a long day, it's gd to think that there's a long weekend. whee~ tmro is a public hol, a gd break for everyone! we all deserve that!

Change of lunch time on alternate weekly basis permanently, 12 and 1pm respectively. Not e 1st time having lunch at 12pm, won't be surprise to find me still munching at 11am plus! I was telling them that i'm not very hungry when it's lunchtime. It's abit too fast - just settle down awhile in e morning and it's lunch time already. at 4 to 5 plus, i'll start to get hungry again.

I wanna grow fatter.
To slim down is easier than gaining weight.
Nevertheless, I still wanna do so.
Just like how I manage to gain that few kilos during puberty. muahahaa...

Cousin's Wedding Dinner
Saturday, April 25, 2009, 11:59 PM

The wedding dinner was held at Singapore Recreation Club aka SRC. It's my 1st time there, when pple tell me that it's near the Padang, I still have no idea where it was. Then it was until we walked there and I saw the logo, suddenly it becomes so familiar.

We were there pretty early like 7.15pm but the actually dinner commenced 1 hr later. Lotsa time to mingle around with relatives and so on. I haven't met my cousins for yrs till the fact that we almost can't recognise each other. Yah, that's a point where my cousin started asking my mom which one is her daughter. That shows how time flies. My cousins were still thinking that I'm schooling and were shocked to know my age even. Maybe I do have a young face. Ahaha!

We were seated in table no. 2, which was very near the stage and is diagonally beside the VIP table. Woo can see the bride so clearly from my seat! I love the outfits she puts on today. I think that all wedding dinner is the same. I always look fwd to see the beautiful in her most beautiful gowns. =)

Was taking pics of the food for the start but halfway, when the fried prawns with oats came, I had forgotten all abt it so subsequently, I gave most dishes a miss. Until the fish came and the waitress remembered that I wanna take pic, so she asked me to do so before she started cutting them. Who knows I didn't on my flash and the pic became blurred. Of cos I won't retake e pic cos my aunt was already complaining when I did that. Everyone was thinking that there's nothing special abt it and I shdn't waste time. My cousins even commented that next time I would have lotsa chance to attend wedding dinner when I reach the age of 25, where the food will look all e same. The chicken, fish, etc. I also know. Just that I thought it would be nice to picture it down. Nowadays pple just love taking pics of food. Sighs... nvm.

The dinner was pretty simple. With the cake-cutting ceremony when the bride and groom went up the stage for the 1st time. Then after a few dishes, they went up again for the champagne pouring. After that, the bride changed into another outfit and it was the wine-toasting ceremony. With that, they went to every table to take pics with professional photographers around.

Actually I thought that it would have been better if they could replay the video they played in the afternoon to show the guests who were not around during the afternoon's solemnisation. Or better still, they can play the video of the solemnisation which would be more interesting. But I guess they probably wanna save time that's why they did away with all these.

Later on, the bride changed until the Chinese traditional Kua. But didn't have the chance to take pic of it. If I have a chance next time, I wish I could wear that too!

During the dinner, was pretty entertained by my cousin's very cute 2 and 1/2 yrs daughter. When the 1st cold dish was served, they played loud music with disco spotlight flashing everywhere and she was dancing away with her hands lifted up with the rhythm. So cute!! Kids are so smart nowadays and they have so many "why" qns to ask. She will even ask what is the toothpick for. OMG. and u gotta explain to her and she will nod as though she really understands. There was once when the prawns with oat were served and there's lemon water in a bowl and when we started using, she also asked what was that. Then my aunt was explaining to her that it's for us to clean our oily hands. She questioned - "why no soap?". haha... smart and curious... whatever u call it... most kids are like this now =)

Yah... the wedding dinner lasted until 11 plus. Hopefully, I will get the pictures of the group photos they took per table soon! In fact, if there's soft copy, it would even be better.

Here's wishing them the 2 wonderful pple a lifetime of happiness! Congrats!! :D

ESKI Bar!
Friday, April 24, 2009, 11:59 PM

As u can see from the pics, I've finally went to Eski bar! Actually was pretty anticipating it. Was thinking of how cold the place would be and it would be very different from the other bars. It's known as a sub-zero degree bar. If u really want to experience the coldness, u would have to specially request to sit near the entrance, where there are "icebergs" around the counter area.

Coats are provided upon request. So happy to get the pink ones!! There's 2 colours available. The other one shd be blue but looks more like black under the dark lighting. I love mine especially. It's so winter-like, with the furry thing around the collar that my colleagues dun have and there's no Eski Bar logo sew onto the windbreaker yet. As good as a new windbreaker gotten outside~ Nice!

We ordered the recommended drinks like Lychee Martini, Chocolate Martini, Cosmo and mine was called Comfort Zone. Comfort Zone is not too sour/bitter, it's kinda sweet like yoghurt taste. Pretty nice. If you are wondering how does it look like, it's the one that I'm holding in the above picture. Very special glass! If u are adventurous, u can try other drinks. They seem to have alot of drinks to choose from their menu.

The place is more or less like Indochino except that e temperature is much colder and there's no main course but only finger food to choose from.

We hanged out until 11.45pm and managed to catch the last train home!

P/S If u nvr go before, can go there and experience yeah =D

Tmro I have my cousin's church wedding and wedding dinner to attend! Looking fwd to it~*

CAN! DISCOVER
Saturday, April 18, 2009, 11:51 PM

Jas is always gd @ looking for lobangs. This time, she forwarded me an email regarding SINGAPORE 2010 CAN! Event, asking if I'm interested to join her, her brother and WX. New activities never fail to attract my attention, so I joined them to the Scape Youth Park.

We went to the 1st booth and got ourselves a "passport" each where we could get a free goodie bag for minimum 10 stickers collected, or even free movie pass (while stock last) for all 14 stickers collected.

We went to the International Culture Booths, with lotsa fun activities lined up for us. Examples are learning sign language at the America booth, played their traditional games at the Belgium booth, face painting/manicure of the flag colour of the country at the Brazil booth, gotta learn language and taste good food at Finland's booth, playing their musical instrument which looks like a small piano at the India's booth, etc. Out of all the booths, I find that I love Switzerland's one most - gotta play their traditional game, spinning a coin in a big bowl using some skills, and they also have great tasting chocolates and cheese-like food to be given away. As for e least interesting one, I would say it's the International Friendship Day's booth. It's rather time-wasting where there were 2 laptops for us to ans 3 out of 6 sections of 10 set qns and the qns were rather challenging, ranging from category like Culture, Economic, Government, etc.

By the time we finished with all e activities, including playing zero-point and wall-painting, we went to the counter to redeem our prize. Only left goodie bag as movie pass really ran out fast. Also gotta myself a Certificate of Participation - titled the Warrior Princess! Muahahaaa! (As the picture above.)

Actually I do felt a little "over-aged" down there, cos most of the participants were pri sch students representing their schs. But Carnival nvr fails to attracts me as usual!

Home sweet home thereafter.

Back to NP~
Saturday, April 11, 2009, 7:50 PM

Added a new link "http://tualobang.blogspot.com/" to my page. It's all about the upcoming sales and promotions that we can enjoy!!

Look at e familiar blue track! Yes, went to NP this morning with Keith for jogging! 2 rounds of continuous jogging together at e same speed. 2 rounds of walking cos was too exhausted cos we seldom exercise and finished off with 1 round of jogging again! The sun was super glaring and I put on my shade and listening to my mp3 while jogging.

It's such a coincidence that he could acc me for outdoor jogging today! cos he lives in e East and for me, going to e West is much more convenient so I really dun see us having such a time to go jogging outside. but bcos he was staying overnight at his Aunt's place, gg to NP is not a prob for him at all! Yeah, concluded that we both still prefer outdoor jogging than jogging on the threadmill in our gym!

Had lunch at e Makan Place which is known as e biggest campus eatery right now! food are reasonably 10 to 20% much cheaper than outside. I thought I was entering some food court in shopping malls. It's air-conditioned and so spacious. Highlights: Subway and Waffle Town can be found there! Used to remember that there's not a single fastfood restaurant in NP before. Keith and I ordered a 2 persons set meal at One pot for only $5.80. i like their chicken soup so much so i would recommend u guys to try since it's also open on Sat!

Also brought him to SIM to have a look. Can see that he's kinda tempted to study in NP/SIM, looking at how well facilitated e campus are. Haha =D

Went for facial after that and went back home to rest!!~

Family Day
Friday, April 10, 2009, 11:59 PM

It's Good Friday! ^^ whee~

Went to Bishan temple for tomb sweeping again but this time, it's with my maternal relatives. For e recent years, we would go to Toa Payoh's Fortunate restaurant after that. But this yr, my uncle, cousin and I strongly disagree to go there again. We were all too sick of it and just didn't want it to be a "yearly event". We thought the next nearest place would be Bishan, Junction 8 and took 2 cabs there. Have to admit that it's not a gd choice cos there's not much restaurants to go to.

Decided to lunch at Ding Tai Fung and waited for abt 15mins. Ordered steam dumplings aka xiao long bao being their specialty, glutinous rice dumplings, etc! we also ordered their Heavenly Fried Rice. Personally, I find e fried rice's portion rather small for the price of $8 - $10 for 1 serving and it's also too oily. Thanks my uncle for e treat. Was too hungry to take pics. Pardon!

Then we walked around Junction 8 to shop around and at the same time digest our food. My uncle brought his new Casio digital cam which he got from e IT show, saying that it has superimposed feature. It's a very special feature where an object can be taken on top of an already-existing background. But he took a long time but still unable to figure out that trick. I was thinking isn't it cool if I use that cam to take a pic of me and then take another one at some full of nature places and superimposed it!

Junction 8 is really too boring for me. Bumped into my ex-colleague who asked me why shouldn't I be in e new shopping mall at Tampines instead. I wanna go but I know that being a Public Holiday, it would be damn packed with pple.

Went to Jurong Point next. It's my 2nd time there after their extension. Was just as crowded as expected. So many pple and I dun have have e mood to try on clothes or buy anything cos it's either e shops are full of pple or e queue is bloody long. Will go to Jurong Point again when it's a non-PH. I wanna get some new clothing there one day!

Then when it's near dinner time, we had dinner at one of the Japanese restaurants at basement 1. We had teppanyaki at YakiYakiBo. it's another treat from my uncle again! wooo... so far, out of e teppanyaki restaurants i went to in both SG and Taipei, i still think that this is e best one ever. e food were so well-prepared by the chef that my aunt kept saying it's gd! i love their chawanmushi, so special! One funny thing was that we were made to wear a plastic "apron" so that the food won't dirty our clothes. I felt as though we are wearing baby bib instead! Haha.. If u pple love to eat Jap food, do go there and try it one day.

Ladies' night
Wednesday, April 8, 2009, 11:59 PM

Power hse on ladies' night is absolutely FUN! esp. during e dance. wanna see sexy and pretty babes, just head there! u won't find urself in e wrong place.

5 free drinks coupon - 4 at power hse and 1 at bellini room! 4 coupons can be exchanged for 1 jug. otherwise each coupon can be used in exchange for housepour, draft beer, drink and juice. we were there super early like 9pm and there wasn't much crowd and we managed to get ourselves seats at e side bar. if we wanna hv a table seat, i think we have to open a bottle of wine. towards 10 plus to 11, e crowd started forming and e Q to get drinks got so much longer. didn't bother to Q, I just drank a glass of bourbon coke tonight. e dance started at 11 plus and it was real power! it was so packed and everyone were just dancing next to each other, almost body touching each other. i do enjoy myself alot there!

if only tmro is not a working day, i could have dance and drink e whole night long. i set myself a curfew to go back home at 12am, Cinderella

great day!
Saturday, April 4, 2009, 11:59 PM

Can't go for e famous brands private sales at Merchant court cos i had smth more impt to attend to. There's so many participating brands like Bobbi Brown, Clinque, M.A.C, Estee Lauder, Origins, Tommy Hilfiger! Initially, my colleague gave me e invitation coupon saying that i can go anytime from 9.30 to 3pm. But after which, I knew that it's impossible to go in e afternoon even if I have e time, cos e gd stuffs would have been swept off in e morning! My colleague eventually told me that her hubby's fren would like to go, so she came to my place at ard 7am plus to get e coupon back from me. LOLX.. i was still aslp when she called and said she's reaching in 5mins time. I nearly jumped out of e bed and rushed to wash up. 1st time see my colleague put on make up cos she's gonna take passport photo. If she put on makeup to work, sure will look different! Side note: she helped me buy a Bobbi Brown's eyeliner for only $10!

Had my breakfast and at abt 9 plus, mom and I went down to Chinatown to meet up with my relatives for  e tomb sweeping. This yr was very different from past yrs. We had to go on Qing Ming festival itself cos it's considered e 1st yr after my uncle passed on. Also, they had decided to do away with e bus rental cos they anticipated that many of us wont be able to go. There's really lesser relatives gg, most of my cousins were all working so I didn't get to see them. Even the no. of places cut down, normally we would be gg to 3 places and now there's only 1, ie. Bishan temple. Before I knew it, it was 12pm and we were all ready to go back.

Went back to Chinatown's OG to walk around and accompanied my aunt to get her purse. Had lunch with mom at Chinatown's market before taking bus home. A small commotion happened on e bus. A drunk man got up e bus and couldn't stable his steps and just knocked into the ladies. I only heard them shouted "oooei!" at him and pushed him away, dunno if he did that on purpose or what. Act drunk and wanna touch gals and old ladies? When he sat down, he still continued to spurt vulgarities in Hokkien. We all just ignored his presence.

Reached home and caught an hr of slp before rushing off to meet S for massage session at Square 2. It's at this place called JA'ZZ - Deluxe branch. 15 mins of Steam Delight and 45mins of full body massage makes me felt so gd after that!! The Steam Delight is more like a sauna but the difference is that it's so much more effective so it's in a enclosed bathroom where i noticed that the temperature is at 42 degrees celsius. my contact lenses came to a blur each time when i tried to open my eyes. a gd way to detox through perspiring (alot). e $38 voucher is indeed a very pampering choice for a first-time customer as it comes with 3 steam delight, 1 full body massage, 3 soft hand spa and 1 face spa which can be utilise anytime within 6 mths from date of purchase. great service, great ambience and no hard sell!

After having dinner at Ajisen, S suggested to go Dbl O. We wanted to avoid e queue outside Velocity's taxi stand so we thot of gg over to TTSH to wait for a cab. who knows there's no cab in sight at all and ended up, we just called a cab and reached Dbl O at 10 plus. It's my virgin visit there. Heard that it's a place full of youngsters. I thought it must be all students and probably underage teenagers but when i got there, the crowd seems fine. It's a place known for its cheap alcoholic drinks. Ordered a jug of Jim Beam mixed with Red Bull and 2 glasses vodka 7-up for only $20.

Was quite boring from 10-11 plus cos there's no table available and the music wasn't exactly great. it's until 11 plus to 1am, we decided to hit the dancefloor, everything was just perfect! i was able to enjoy so freely... dance dance and dance! shdn't have told D to send me home at 1am... i was rather reluctant to leave e place cos it seems like i'm gonna enjoy myself for another 1 or 2 hrs.

Some things change but my love for clubbing still remains. i know that D doesn't enjoy that as much now and he's such a nice bf who will allow me to go with other frens and still send me home after that. i appreciate what he did!

YL's farewell
Wednesday, April 1, 2009, 7:47 AM

Just had an ex-colleague's farewell not long ago, now another one. Not bcos Linda has resigned but bcos she was offered to join another team doing a totally different jobscope and she has taken up the new role. Happy for her.

We will still be in e same co, same floor, same unit. But I think our co. is big enough for us not to see each other for e entire day if we dun bump into each other in e common areas, e ladies, etc cos we dun even need to walk near to each other's cubicle if not necessarily. Our co. has another exit which is very near to them but we seldom use it.

We had her farewell celebration at Creation Cafe suggested by Janise. Having a set dinner which consists of a soup of e day, main course ranging from pasta to western food, drinks and dessert. As long as it's anything from the menu under that category, u can choose from it. Total cost for e set dinner is $15.20 nett per pax.

Enjoyed e session. Hoping for more to come. Gave St James a missed but really hope to go soon!
