Went to Bishan temple for tomb sweeping again but this time, it's with my maternal relatives. For e recent years, we would go to Toa Payoh's Fortunate restaurant after that. But this yr, my uncle, cousin and I strongly disagree to go there again. We were all too sick of it and just didn't want it to be a "yearly event". We thought the next nearest place would be Bishan, Junction 8 and took 2 cabs there. Have to admit that it's not a gd choice cos there's not much restaurants to go to.
Decided to lunch at Ding Tai Fung and waited for abt 15mins. Ordered steam dumplings aka xiao long bao being their specialty, glutinous rice dumplings, etc! we also ordered their Heavenly Fried Rice. Personally, I find e fried rice's portion rather small for the price of $8 - $10 for 1 serving and it's also too oily. Thanks my uncle for e treat. Was too hungry to take pics. Pardon!
Then we walked around Junction 8 to shop around and at the same time digest our food. My uncle brought his new Casio digital cam which he got from e IT show, saying that it has superimposed feature. It's a very special feature where an object can be taken on top of an already-existing background. But he took a long time but still unable to figure out that trick. I was thinking isn't it cool if I use that cam to take a pic of me and then take another one at some full of nature places and superimposed it!
Junction 8 is really too boring for me. Bumped into my ex-colleague who asked me why shouldn't I be in e new shopping mall at Tampines instead. I wanna go but I know that being a Public Holiday, it would be damn packed with pple.
Went to Jurong Point next. It's my 2nd time there after their extension. Was just as crowded as expected. So many pple and I dun have have e mood to try on clothes or buy anything cos it's either e shops are full of pple or e queue is bloody long. Will go to Jurong Point again when it's a non-PH. I wanna get some new clothing there one day!
Then when it's near dinner time, we had dinner at one of the Japanese restaurants at basement 1. We had teppanyaki at YakiYakiBo. it's another treat from my uncle again! wooo... so far, out of e teppanyaki restaurants i went to in both SG and Taipei, i still think that this is e best one ever. e food were so well-prepared by the chef that my aunt kept saying it's gd! i love their chawanmushi, so special! One funny thing was that we were made to wear a plastic "apron" so that the food won't dirty our clothes. I felt as though we are wearing baby bib instead! Haha.. If u pple love to eat Jap food, do go there and try it one day.
