Jean's bday celebration - Part 2 of the Day
Saturday, June 27, 2009, 6:30 PM

It was a rather impromptu decision to be celebrating Jean's bday (actual day is on 30th June).

Okayyy, not exactly last min's decision. Had intended to help Sis to choose smth with her $60 gift voucher at Wisma. this voucher can be used in majority stores and even for dining purpose. yah, and very nice Sis did mention to me 2 wks before if we wanna celebrate bday for Jean, of cos i'm more than happy to do so. a few days before e meetup, Sis also 'msned' me to ask if i wanna give her a bday surprise.

hmm... tot it would be gd to go thru e webbie to look for budget restaurants or a place where I can surprise her with a cake in e midst of e dinner. yadah yadah.. but all these didn't take place bcos budget western food restaurants are scarce in Wisma/Ngee Ann City. Just when we wanna find, there seems to be none. I managed to click on e webbie and saw Pasta Cafe. Msged e gals on Fri nite itself and got a reply from them today. called to make reservations but apparently, they were fully booked. =(

Plan A fails! :[

Plan B is to plan nth and go there with our gut feelings!

Everything turned out smoothly. Sis managed to get a pretty black handbag at Charles and Keith for $59.90. The price is just nice for e vouchers. Hahaha, to her, she thinks it's not worth e price, but we managed to psycho her. Hope she will be using it after birth yeah. Be a modern mummy k =D

Then we headed straight to Taka in search for restaurants, took a lift to lvl 4 i think, where there's Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao as sis is craving for xiao long bao. haha.. but the queue was horrendous. we gave up that idea eventually.

It's abt early 8 plus, we walked all e way down to the Heeren. Not sure who suggested this, but I thot it's a gd idea to be dining at Shokudo! So many Jap food choices to go about, u will definitely find smth u want there. Asked them if their stomachs can still fill in other food, a no-no ans came from them cos we had ordered quite a lot, from rosti set with sunny egg and fat sausage [a must-try!], bacon and cheese omelette, Unagi hot pan & omelette fried rice to chicken teriyaki pizza & gyoza aka Japanese dumplings!

Yah, since everyone has our stomachs filled and can't even stuff anymore dessert not to say cakes, I've decided that both Sis and I shall give Jean a dinner treat instead. =)

Glad that she's happy and enjoyed herself.
Camwhored at e end of e day~*
Pretty fun day!

Happy advance bday to Jean once again!! =)

So tempted to get a real one but yeah, I'm damn scare of e pain. If not, I would really like to have one on my ring fingers =P

* Main highlight for the day: Free Numerology and Tarot Card Reading! *

We were kinda excited with mixed feelings. Before that, I was abit nervous and not knowing what to ask, since we could ask 1-2 qns, given abt 6mins per person. Part of me was excited to know what my future is gg to be, part of me is also scare to know e truth. Also thinking if it's gonna be accurate or not, no harm trying since it's free anyway.

Everyone got our almost 90% accurate verdict. The professional consultant, Renae Chan, told us tarot card reading is NOT fortune telling but more of using our subconscious mind to predict our future. Interesting!

Numerology is more like a personality test I believe. I got very amazed cos I only gave her my bday and she's able tell me what kinda person I am by calculating those numbers which comes up with alot of 6 and 9.

I'm a very DRAMATIC, ROMANTIC and ARTISTIC person. Can be quite a perfectionist and sometimes even picky bcos of that. Very protective towards my frens and family. Most suited to work in customer service line, cos I'll treat my customers really well (different from how I treat my close frens, etc). Not only that, media, theatre related kind of jobs suits me too. Beauty things attracts me a lot. A quick-tempered person by nature. (Oh man... that's so true, just that some pple dunno la...)

Moving on, I asked abt my career and r/s using tarot card. The ans given to me was smth I have been hoping to get, a confirmation. A guideline to my life. It seems like an ans falling down from the sky telling me what I should do, enlightening me with the qns that I've been bothered all these while. I've never thot that I would feel so relieved knowing them.

I won't say that I will 100% believe it bcos things will change as we change our mindset, etc. She may be able to predict for us not only for the whole yr (from this yr's bday to next yr's - that's how they calculate), but also until we are 30 yrs old and above, but really, who knows what's gonna happen right?

But at least for now, I know what I shd do with my current job and r/s and what are e things I shd place more focus on. Overall, my job is still stable at e moment and I'm glad to have moral support from my colleagues and everything is still gd yeah.

For my r/s, I can see more light coming in. I can see a future that I've been waiting for. Maybe not in e very near future but there's a bright future for us. Yes, we have to work together and I have to change my bad temper really. And yes, I know my ideal age for marriage in order not to get into unnecessary problems in future, a safe guideline as well =D

Enjoyed playing frisbee and beach ball with the girls at the beach. Actually I didn't realise but according to my frens, outside Cafe'del Mar there's many beds for pple to relax, suntan and to drink, costing $100/per bed! Whooo... I didn't know that and even thought of finding an empty one to sit down. lols.

Foam party at the swimming pool outside the bar was cool also. Nvr know that there's such a nice concept, so unlike SG. I like! =)

Yups, have to meet Jean and Sis in e evening. The gers also thought of going back to e main island with me, so we went off at ard 6pm~ Nice time spent though we didn't know any hunks! Anyway, that's not our main purpose of going there right? xP But I dun mind making new frens. NVM, next time i'm sure there'll be other events and I swear I'm gonna be more open this time. Since I'm a person so easily bored, I shd make more frens and keep my life occupied with more events. =P

P/S Thx Ling for e gifts from TW, so sweet =))

Drag me to Hell
Thursday, June 25, 2009, 11:45 PM

Catched this movie by Sam Raimi with Keith last Thurs but was too lazy to update!

Heard MA briefly talking abt the show last Wed, she only watched of the beginning of the show where Christine Brown, the loan officer, rejecting the extension of the loan of the old woman, Mrs Ganush. She decided not to give her anymore extension of the mortgage loan payment after seeking her boss' advices and seeing her way to be promoted to the Asst. Mgr by impressing her boss with e decision made. Who knows, the old woman acted really pitiful telling her that she would have no place to live in and went on her knees to beg her. In a lost, she pulled the old woman away from her and called for security. The old woman started to cry and wail and said that Christine has shamed her and told her that one day she will make her come back to beg her instead.

Keith seems pretty enthu to catch e show after hearing the small part of the show, plus he has also seen e trailer of e show. And me, after years of not watching any horror movie have e urge to watch. Without much hesitation, we decided to go and watch after work the next day.

The show was like a bumpy roller-coaster ride. Notti Keith was abt to scare me and I warned him not to. He asked what if he suddenly hit my hand hard, will I scream. Of cos I will! If the scene is not scary at all, I think e whole theatre would have laughed at me for sure.

What MA didn't tell us was that the show was more disgusting than just being scary. The grey, cloudy eyes of the old woman with nails like real dirty claws and her disgusting yellowish dentures that sticked with saliva and mucus were enough to make me sick.

The loud sound effects of the show was enough to make alot of us scream. That very same night after Christine's work, she was attacked in her car by Mrs. Ganush at the carpark. A Lamia curse was place on her after a violent struggle between them when the old woman removed a button from Christine's jacket, leaving the cursed button with Christine.

After which, Christine's bf came to pick her up. On their way home, they went back a fortune teller's store and Christine insisted going in though her bf nvr believes in it. The fortune teller confirmed that there's a dark spirit cast upon her and asked her to leave and dun even want to collect any money from her. With the powerful curse, it marks the start of her living hell life.

We kinda concluded during that point of the show, we can offend anybody but NEVER, NEVER do that to an old lady! U won't wanna be haunted for life!

Christine would start hearing lotsa strange sounds and see flying objects coming after her. While Christine was slping with the accompany of her bf, the next day or so, the horror didn't end there. There was a fly that looks bigger than usual with buzzing sounds that came and landed on Christine's face. It started crawling around her chin, going into one of her nostrils and coming out from the other one, and went right into her mouth that made her waking up choking and the next moment what was slping beside her the old woman! urgh.

The fly came back again few days later, while she was having a formal dinner with her bf and his parents. Oh goodness, u wouldn't to imagine urself seeing a fly right inside e cake that u were enjoying halfway. The black eyes that came popping out was scary enough. She had to pretend nth has happen and continued eating until she really couldn't stand it and burst out telling everyone what has happened. Her big emotional reactions has left her bf's parents a very bad impression of her. So poor thing.

Bcos of the tortures Christine was facing, she couldn't take it and went back to the fortune teller for help. According to the books he had about fighting the curse, he taught her by sacrificing an animal to satisfy the Lamia, that's how she killed her fave pet kitten. However, this doesn't help at all.

She went back to the fortune teller and was told that he could help to engage the help of Shaun San Dena, the mother of her son who was dragged to hell many yrs back for a stolen cursed jewellery, by paying her $10k for conducting the seance. She was in a lost for finding such big amount of money and even thought of getting help from her boss, who knows her boss said that they had loss the biz and her new position is no longer available. Luckily, her bf was very supportive and paid for it.

That night, they were prepared to trap the Lamia in a live goat to kill it, who knows the plan didn't work out and instead it went on assaulting the rest during the seance session! The poor mother, Shaun San Dena, died after she managed to banish the Lamia. Later on, the fortune teller explained to her that the Lamia curse was not completed over. She only have one day left for her to get rid of the cursed button, if not she would be dragged to hell and be burned eternally.

Over at e restaurant, she was holding onto the white envelope with the thought of passing to another person, but she's too kind-hearted to even want anyone to suffer from the same fate like her. And she accidentally came across the obituary and found out that Mrs Ganush was dead. She consulted the fortune teller and knew that she could pass e cursed button back to the dead and the curse will break naturally. She proceeded with her plan of digging up the grave in the heavy rain and forced the envelope into the old woman's mouth.

The next day, on her way of meeting her bf at the train station, Christine even went to buy a new jacket and to start her new life and settle down with her bf.

...

...

[Warning: Spoiler of the show, pls dun read on if u haven catch the show]

...

...

...

The twist of the story came! Her bf suddenly took out a familiar white envelope and handed it to her. Gosh! It's e button of her jacket!! She didn't give to to Mrs Ganush after all bcos the night before, when her bf braked e car as a man dashed across the road, everything dropped and she took e wrong white envelope with her. Just then, Christine was too shocked to know e truth and she kept walking backwards until she fell off to the tracks when the oncoming train was coming for her. Her bf reached his hand for her and then, suddenly the track underneath opens up and started dragging Christine to Hell. Really sad ending that also explains the name of the show!

I would give this movie a rating of 7.5/10.

Mind Cafe outing *YAY*
Tuesday, June 23, 2009, 11:59 PM

It's been awhile since we last went Mind Cafe, it's time to go again during Ladies night where games are FOC for us from 6-11pm. woo! We were also planning this surprise for JC's advanced bday. We have been keeping this really well, getting her to believe that it's really an outing with our colleagues. She was kinda excited and even suggested her fren to come and join us for e fun. The more the merrier.

To come up with the surprise, Linda even suggested that she pretend she dun wanna go liao... and make her disappointed and later surprise her with e cake.

To make it sound real, we even told CL and AW to stay back and go together with Linda to collect the bday cake from Awfully Chocolate at Vivo, so that they will reach after us and surprise JC with the cake.

Sounds like e plan is gg to be excited... and we super kanchiong, MA, Keith and I were like waiting for their calls.

For some reasons, JC and her fren looked at JC's hp and kept laughing (got reason behind it, to be reveal later!). Keith dunno what was going on but when JC eye-contacted with him, he also started laughing and JC thought he knew what they were laughing abt. MA also laughed and told Keith to laugh louder than them. I only innocently think that e joke was between JC and her fren and so never really think much abt it.

When CL called, MA quickly stood up and pulled Keith along telling the bday gal that CL they all lost their way and she's gg to bring them up. I also ran down with them and pretended coming up with some games on my hand. I guess it's a little obvious cos JC was telling me not to be so busy, food was here, sit down and eat. But I came up with another excuse and went down again.

Then we came up with the bday cake this time with candles lighted up and began singing her e bday song!! Woo~ Then when we settled down, JC suddenly said, "I'm gg to show u guys smth really funny!" And she passed her hp to me and asked me to pass to them. OH man!

It's a surprise given me back us, obviously! JC already knew our plan, cos got some 'spoiler' went to sms her cos he can't make it for e outing and wished her happy bday in advance. Gd one! -.-''' If only that sms came like 10 mins later, it would have helped alot!!

But nvm, JC really appreciated what we've done and we still enjoyed ourselves, didn't we? At least she didn't knew that Linda would be here and she has her gd frens around to celebrate her bday with her.

Here's e peektures... enjoy:

How can we miss this game??! Coconut tree with monkeys falling down from the trees. Keith suggested that we play this game together with Jenga (smth like Uno Stacko). It means whenever we drop one monkey, we will take out a Jenga block. The more monkeys we drop, the more exciting the Jenga game goes! Hahahaha.. and we played 2 rounds of that!

For the 1st round, Anthony thought he would be able to stable the blocks but who knows the next moment, the blocks came tumbling down!

Have u guess wad was that in e cup of apple tea or peach apricot??

I dunno who was so excited in throwing in e monkeys to start a new round of game and e monkey jumped into Keith's cup! Anthony was quick enough to take tt pic b4 e waitress replaced it.

Just look at Keith's expression for the forfeit (have to finish 2 pieces of bday cake) he has gotten from being the ultimate loser of the game for the 2nd round.

We LOVE this "bone" game which always make us laugh and shout like crazy. It's our all-time favourite game! Played countless rounds. D came towards the end and joined us for last 2 to 3 rounds before the cafe close! Hahaha!

We purposely played e bones in different positions each time and sometimes it's so funny that we laughed so hard at it. Dunno who hit or scratch our hands when we snatched e cards and bones.. haha.. it's a violent game, those who have long nails, better refrain from playing.

Overall, it's still great FUN! JC's fren is a very fun-loving person too!! Our next outing would be BBQ...... now still pending for organisers... hahaa.

P/S Forgot to mention that there's a funny staff whom we admit that we are v bad, cos whenever he talks, we would laugh. We can't really understand what he's saying due to his articulation and we always hear wrongly. We met him during our 1st visit to Mind Cafe at Princep St (Dhoby Ghaut's outlet), who knows we were so fated to see him again at Boat Quay's outlet. so fated ^^ (oops... prior to the outing, i was still telling JC to go Dhoby Ghaut's outlet, cos we can get to see him.) wahahhaa!
