Jean & I were discussing on where to sign up for a yoga class bcos i wanted to have an activity where i can keep my sundays busy. hmm... i've come across this webbie which says that we can sign up for a yr's membership to have access to 3 of their studios and can enjoy all the classes - be it yoga, pilate, etc. Have to sign up with a fren to enjoy the 50% disc promotion which is like $1475 (UP $2.3K+) a year. Come to think of it, it's quite exp!
Gd thing that Jean spotted a page on e webbie that says that new students can go for a trial yoga session at only $17 (UP $34) if we email them for e 50% disc voucher. So i took e initiative and sent the email. very promptly I received e voucher and I booked for e session.
It's a hot yoga session at 8pm where we were instructed not to eat anything 2 hrs before session but to drink lots of water b4 e session. Mats and towels were all provided. The gd side of it. Dun have to purchase anything to get started. Can just come in teeshirt/sleeveless shirt and shorts/tights. Something comfy. Can be barefooted, so no shoes required too.
We had San Lai as our instructor (pic above). She's a very nice lady with a great figure, e advantage of taking up yoga and getting to practise all e time. Smth that keeps us motivated! haha..
The room temp is ard 40 degrees celsius. I think i can take e temp pretty well... but really sweated profusely after doing a few postures. there's 26 postures to be completed within the 90mins session. wah.. can see that i've not been exercising for a long time, my thigh muscles were aching so much when i tried to pull myself and stretched. learnt some breathing technique from there. still learning how to focus at one point and to stay balance in a certain position. e friendly instructor knew that Jean and I were there for e 1st time, she made extra effort by placing her attn on us too. I find that the whole session was great!
Think not many pple can take hot yoga, for me i'm okay with e heat and felt gd after sweating it out! But this doesn't apply to Jean. She was complaining to me that she felt a little giddy and uncomfortable during the session. This doesn't stop her from trying out the normal yoga next time. Way to go, gal! We are going to look for cheaper alternatives and i hope we can stay motivated.
Hahaha.. it's nice trying on new things once again. the money spent is worth it. =)
